A co-operative society is often a voluntary association of individuals
who come together with the intention to work together and to promote
their economic interest. These societies work on the principle of self-help
as well as mutual help.
The Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi has made efforts to prepare co-operative laws
to make cooperative societies a viable economic movement, encompassing simultaneous growth in the field
of socio-culture, information technology, health, education through the medium of cooperative societies.
Therefore, the Delhi Cooperative Societies Act, 2003 has been enacted which aims to consolidate and amend the
laws relating to cooperative societies. It facilitates the voluntary formation and democratic functioning of
cooperatives as people’s institutions based on self-help and mutual aid to enable them to promote their economic
and social betterment.
V.M. Co-Operative Urban Thrift & Credit Society Ltd. is a cooperative credit society registered
with the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Delhi, bearing Registration No.
10807/SEC-VIII/T/C/2023 dated 17-APR-2023. It runs under the provisions
of Delhi Cooperative Societies Act, 2003, Delhi Cooperative Societies Rules, 2007.
It is functioning as per the registered bye-laws and business policies framed by the
General Body of the society. The aim and objective is to undertake thrift & credit
business amongst its members only. The society caters not only financial needs of its members,
but also works for the social, cultural and educational development of the members and their
dependants.
The organisation has adopted a Mutual Benefit approach to involve
every member in our mission with a spirit of cooperation and confidence.
The Mutual Benefit has instituted a working culture, which revolves around
efficiency, transparency, professionalism, teamwork, and flexibility.
